From Weavers’ cottages to architectural new builds our experience lies in design and technical detailing. Bringing ideas to life and Pinterest dreams a reality, style and personality is at the heart of everything we do.

Offering the very best in designer brands including; Designers Guild, Sanderson, Harlequin, Morris & Co, Christian Lacroix, Ralph Lauren, Cole & Son, Scion, Ian Mankin, Laura Ashley, Emma Shipley, Romo, Villa Nova, Kai, Ashley Wilde, Abraham Moons, Clarke & Clarke, Zoffany, GP & J Baker, Osborne & Little, Matthew Williamson, Nina Campbell, Missoni, Linwood, Mulberry Home, Voyage, Lewis & Wood, Prestigious Textiles, Swaffer, Little Greene and Silent Gliss.

With a dedicated workroom above our retail showroom The Pattern Principle offers a hand finished interior design service. From hand finished cushions to made to measure hand pleated curtains, handstitched Roman blinds each piece is lovingly created by our dedicated team using minimal machine stitching.

We use UK sourced cotton rich linings, luxury feather fills and the very best headrails and systems that meet stringent child safety regulations. With one eye on the environment, we also offer locally sourced weavers and fabric manufacturers and recycled fabrics alongside technical fabrics offering aqua clean and stain resistant finishes.

Claire Crawford

Founder / Director

Founded in 2014 The Pattern Principle was Claire’s dream to offer a unique and bespoke one to one interior service. Where clients could realise their creative vision and be inspired by some of the leading interior brands.

Claire’s passion for textiles comes from working for some of the leading high street’s brands and many years designing, sourcing and producing upholstery collections as well as a buyer for the likes of Next and Dunelm.

With a textile degree and formal training in both Interior Design and Feng Shui for the home Claire’s passion for colour and pattern is evident in the personal journey she dedicates to every home she works in.

Tracy Upton

Interior Sales Consultant

Leading our front of house showroom Tracey manages the day to day running of The Pattern Principle.

Her passion for Interior design is evident in her personalised one to one service she provides to our clients; marrying ideas to individual design, taste and style. 

With a strong background in customer service and project management Tracey is dedicated to creating beautiful and personal homes for all our clients.
